Little Mice Wiki -- Creating and Describing Mental Pictures

Creating good mental pictures is something we can all learn to do, but it is important to understand that we all visualize things differently.

1. Visualize what you are reading.  Close your eyes and imagine what the situation might look like if you were seeing a picture of it.

"Stuart ran down the leafy path from his home to the waterfront."

Sketch a picture of what you see and explain it to your partner.

2.  Close your eyes again. "Stuart ran down the leafy path from his home to the waterfront, where the cool wide-bladed grass grew that he loved so much."

Add details to your drawing.
